1. Introduction
These terms and conditions govern your registration for and participation in training courses offered by Metropolitan Waterways Concepts Limited (“MWC”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By registering for any of our courses, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Registration and Eligibility
2.1 All information provided during registration must be accurate, complete, and current.
2.2 Participants must be at least 18 years of age to register for our courses.
2.3 Valid government-issued identification is required for all registrations.
2.4 We reserve the right to refuse registration or cancel enrollment if false information is provided.
3. Course Fees and Payment
3.1 All course fees must be paid in full before the commencement of training unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3.2 Payment can be made via bank transfer to our designated accounts:

3.3 Proof of payment must be presented at our office for verification before training begins.
3.4 Course fees are subject to change. The fee applicable is that which was in effect at the time of registration.
4. Cancellation and Refund Policy
4.1 Cancellations made 14 days or more before the course start date are eligible for a full refund minus a 10% administrative fee.
4.2 Cancellations made 7-13 days before the course start date are eligible for a 50% refund.
4.3 Cancellations made less than 7 days before the course start date are not eligible for refunds.
4.4 Metropolitan Waterways reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses. In such cases, participants will be offered alternative dates or a full refund.
5. Course Attendance and Conduct
5.1 Participants must attend all scheduled sessions to be eligible for certification.
5.2 Participants must follow all safety instructions provided by instructors.
5.3 Any participant under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be immediately removed from training without refund.
5.4 Participants must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully toward instructors and fellow participants.
6. Certification and Examination
6.1 Certificates are issued only upon successful completion of all course requirements, including examinations where applicable.
6.2 For NIWA certification, additional requirements as set by the National Inland Waterways Authority must be met.
6.3 Beginners must pass both written and practical examinations before applying for the National Skipper’s Licence.
7. Health and Safety
7.1 Participants must declare any medical conditions that may affect their ability to participate safely.
7.2 Participants must be able to swim or wear a life jacket at all times during practical training.
7.3 Metropolitan Waterways provides necessary safety equipment during training sessions.
8. Liability
8.1 While Metropolitan Waterways takes all reasonable precautions to ensure safety, participation in water-based activities involves inherent risks.
8.2 Participants acknowledge these risks and agree to participate at their own risk.
8.3 Metropolitan Waterways is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury that is not directly caused by our negligence.
9. Data Protection
9.1 Personal information collected during registration is used solely for training administration, certification, and communication purposes.
9.2 We do not share personal information with third parties except as required for certification purposes with NIWA.
9.3 Documents and photographs uploaded are stored securely and retained only for the period necessary for training records.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 All training materials provided remain the property of Metropolitan Waterways Concepts Limited.
10.2 Participants may not reproduce, distribute, or use training materials for commercial purposes without written permission.
11. Amendments
11.1 Metropolitan Waterways reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.
11.2 Current terms are available on our website and at our office.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
