Course Overview

The Marine Communication (VHF Radio) Course leads to the Short Range Certificate (SRC), an internationally recognized qualification for operating marine VHF radio equipment. This certification is mandatory for operating GMDSS equipment.

Course Content

GMDSS Overview

Understanding the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System and your role within it.

VHF Operations

Comprehensive training on VHF radio operation, including DSC, routine calls, and emergency procedures.

Regulatory Framework

Understanding World Radio Conference 2012 (WRC-12) Resolution 343 requirements for SRC for non-SOLAS vessels.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the examination, you will receive the Short Range Certificate (SRC), enabling you to operate GMDSS equipment and have primary responsibility for radio communications during distress, urgency, safety, and routine incidents for non-SOLAS vessels in sea area A1.
